Around one third of it has been used to support groups attending the Youth Escape 08 event at Thainstone in August.

The list of grants awarded so far this year include £420 to the 2nd Aboyne Brownies; £68 to MC Street Dance, Alford; £150 to Banchory Schools Orienteering Group; £79 to Alford Youth Forum; £150 to the Alford Otters; £70 to Ballater Youth Club; £150 to the Aboyne and Banchory Youth Group and £70 to the Huntly Youth Forum.
