BANCHORY women Helen Everard and Sue Leftwich will help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in the Great North Run this weekend.
Helen and Sue will be donning their official vests to run the largest half marathon in the world, on Sunday, in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Both have decided to support BHF for different reasons. Sue is the local cardiac rehabilitation instructor in Banchory and Aboyne and Helen has a family connection with heart disease.

Sue said: "We have both seen the effects of coronary heart disease on people from all walks of life and would like to contribute to the ongoing research into care and rehabilitation. You are still more likely to die of heart disease than any other serious illness, including cancer. It causes four out of ten deaths in the UK."

All funds raised by the heart runners team will ensure the BHF can continue research into the causes and preventions of the disease.
If you would like to make a donation to Helen and Sue's half marathon effort, then call 01330 822482/823074
