ABOYNE Tennis Club's U10 & U12 players competed the club's annual junior championships and, despite the overcast and drizzly weather, there was some good play, with Calum Kitching winning the boys U10 singles against John McFarland and Neil Thomson-Mitchell winning the U12 competition against Alexander Fyfe.
In the girls competition, Ellie Ross won the U10 singles with Jaimee Ross runner up and Jemima Curran won the U12 competition, with Elizabeth Hazley runner up.

Jemima Curran and Alexander Fyfe won the U12 mixed doubles against Neil Thomson-Mitchell and Elizabeth Hazley.

Two other trophies were presented by club coach Andrew Haw, Kerry Donaldson receiving the award for the most improved player over the season and Morgan Ericsson the award for best sportsmanship over the year.

The older players had their finals day in near perfect, windless and warm weather.

A hard fought boys U16 final saw Chris Taylor win out against Oliver Thomson in a two and half hour match, which was the only 3 setter of the day.

Rory Curran was this year's men's singles winner, beating Andrew Fyfe in the final.

Rory combined with Calum Keenan to lift the men's doubles in a close fought match against Stephen Hodgetts and Andrew Fyfe, as well going on to pair up with sister Olivia Curran to beat Stephen and Alison Hodgetts in the mixed doubles final.

Olivia also won the U16 girls competition against Laura-Jane Fyfe.

Alison Hodgetts beat Laura-Jane in the ladies final and a competitive ladies doubles saw Alison Hodgetts and Olivia Curran beat Joss Marshall & Rona Mitchell.

The day ended with a BBQ and prize giving, with flowers being given to Christine Fyfe and Joss Marshall for their hard work in organising the tournaments.
