BUCKIE ROVERS 1 CULTER 6

CULTER did not have it all their own way at Buckpool in their North Regional Cup Preliminary Round match with Buckie Rovers.
Rovers started brightly at a wet Merson Park and took the lead in the third minute when Dean Clark turned home a corner.

A minute later Allan Youngson tried his luck for the Deesiders but shot wide before Dod McBain crossed for Lewis McKimmie who
headed straight at Steve Todd in the Buckie goal.

But Culter were level with 21 minutes on the clock when an Allan Youngson free kick was cleared only as far as Ryan Stott who flashed a spectacular effort high into the net from 15 yards.

The visitors were now beginning to dominate with Dod McBain prominent and he picked out Martin Shand who in turn found Ryan Stott but his parting shot flew high over the bar.

In a rare break Dave Munro had a chance for Rovers but his attempt was weak and John Farquhar saved easily.

Culter got their noses in front in the 35th minute when Ryan Stott went on a mazy run before thumping home a beauty, which flew in off the post.

The same player might have bagged his hat trick moments later but on this occasion his attempt dribbled past the post.

Close to the end of the first period Dod McBain set up Martin Shand but his powerful header flashed inches wide.

The Deesiders continued where they had left off at the start of the second half and went further ahead in the 53rd minute when Ryan Stott shrugged of a posse of markers before squaring the ball to Adam Wilson who finished from close range.

Culter then sent on Martin Cooper and Ryan Pressley for Kevin Garioch and Colin Craik but the visitor's fourth of the afternoon came in the form of an own goal when another Ryan Stott cross was turned into his own net by Darren Stewart.

Culter were really on song now as the home side looked deflated. Lewis McKimmie added a fifth when he scored from a Ryan Stott cross.

With the game effectively over as a contest Martin Shand made it six when Steve Todd made a hash of a pass back and the Culter striker had the easiest of jobs to blast the ball home from a yard out.

Culter: Farquhar, Sim, M. Robertson, Wilson, Garioch, Craik, McBain, Youngson, Shand, McKimmie, Stott. Subs: Brown, Pressley, Cooper, Rattray, Farmer.
